U of L football suspends WR James Quick

James Quick has been suspended from the University of Louisville football team for an unspecified violation of team rules, the program announced Saturday.

The sophomore receiver and Trinity High grad will not play in the Cardinals' Saturday night game at Boston College.

It's Quick's second spot of trouble this year with U of L football. He was cited by university police last spring for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Louisville coach Bobby Petrino said at the time that Quick was disciplined internally, though the former four-star prospect out of high school didn't miss any playing time.

He is Louisville's leading receiver this season, with 459 receiving yards and three touchdowns. He'd also served as the team's primary punt returner before losing the job last week due to problems with fumbling.
