Final: U of L 68, UNCW 57.

Montrezl Harrell and Terry Rozier scored 19 apiece to lead the Cards in an ugly win. They have one more tune-up before facing Kentucky, on Saturday at Western Kentucky.

See a final box score (http://bit.ly/1GnuBMh) and more analysis from the game (http://cjky.it/1wR9mkT).

1:47, 2H: UNCW trailed just eight but seemed content to walk it up the court. After a missed shot, Montrezl Harrell scored on a loud tip-in. The lead is back to 10, at 64-54.

3:17, 2H: U of L scored 6 points in 49 seconds, a solid answer to UNCW's run, to take a 62-52 lead into the under-four timeout. Terry Rozier's 19 points lead all scorers. Montrezl Harrell has 17 and Wayne Blackshear 11.

6:18, 2H: Terry Rozier's contested layup marked U of L's first made bucket in the Cards' last six attempts. It was a four-minute scoring drought in all as the lead stands at 54-50 to the under-eight timeout.

UNCW guard Freddie Jackson has stepped up in this one to score 15 points and tally 4 rebounds.

6:53, 2H: What was once an 18-point lead is now two. It's 52-50 U of L, a 15-0 run.

8:13, 2H: In the midst of a 13-0 UNCW run, the Seahawks lost junior guard Craig Ponder to an injury -- possibly just a cramp. It's 52-45.

9:10, 2H: An 8-0 UNCW run has the Seahawks to within 52-43.

11:33, 2H: The Cards have hit 10 of their first 15 shots in the second half while holding UNCW to a 5 of 12 start at the under-12 timeout. The lead is 52-35.

12:39, 2H: Montrezl Harrell leads all players with 15 points and 13, and U of L's lead is out to 50-35 despite UNCW hitting its last three shots.

13:45, 2H: U of L's defense has starred in this one. UNCW has four second half points and is working on a scoring drought that's lasted 3:53. The Cards' lead is 46-28.

15:40, 2H: It's tough to come back when the opponent's hitting from the free throw line. U of L, typically mediocre from there this season, has been on the mark -- 7 of 9 tonight. The Cards lead UNCW 42-28 at the under-16 timeout.

18:14, 2H: Timeout, UNCW, on a Montrezl Harrell dunk in transition. The Cards have their largest lead of the game at 36-24. Harrell, with 11 points and as many rebounds, already has a double-double.

20:00, 2H: Chris Jones didn't play after the six-minute mark of the first half, and out to start the second is Quentin Snider along with the rest of the Cards' starters -- including Mangok Mathiang.

Halftime: U of L 32, UNCW 24.

Off a Seahawks miss near the end of the half, Terry Rozier dunked in transition near the buzzer.

Wayne Blackshear scored 11 points and tallied 6 rebounds, while Montrezl Harrell went for 9 and 11.

U of L's largest lead was 9 points in a half where the Cards trailed at one point by 4.

1:30, 1H: U of L's still looking offensively, but Montrezl Harrell has 11 rebounds to go with his 7 points. The Cards lead 27-18.

3:26, 1H: Six UNCW players have scored in this one, as the Seahawks' upset bid remains alive. It's 23-18 at the under-four timeout. Teams have combined to shoot 17 of 55, both under 35 percent from the field.

4:57, 1H: A Quentin Snider free throw matched U of L's largest lead at 23-18, while the Cards' defense is standing tall. UNCW has three turnovers in the last 4:11 and has hit 1 of its last 6 shots.

6:10, 1H: Montrezl Harrell's first impact play of the game -- grabbing his own offensive board for a putback and and-one bucket -- has the Cards ahead 21-18 at the under-eight timeout. Wayne Blackshear, meanwhile, is 4 of 9 from the field with a game-high 11 points, mentioned as an all-ACC first teamer so far by the ESPN crew calling this one.

U of L's biggest edge is in the paint, where the Cards are out-scoring UNCW 16-8.

10:03, 1H: UNCW's Freddie Jackson just picked up his second foul, U of L ahead 15-13. Kevin Keatts has already gone four deep into his bench.

11:41, 1H: Chinanu Onuaku, on a tip-in off the bench, pushed U of L ahead 13-11 at the under-12 timeout. While the Cards are 1 f 7 on 3-pointers, they've hit 5 of 12 inside the arc -- not too bad. Wayne Blackshear already has 9 points on 4 of 8 shooting.

14:54, 1H: To the under-16 timeout, U of L trails 8-6. The Cards are 3 of 12 from the field, though UNCW is 0 of 4 from beyond the arc. Neither team has subbed yet.

17:08, 1H: Timeout, U of L. UNCW leads 4-0 on a Chuck Ogbodo putback dunk. At the other end, Montrezl Harrell had missed a 3-pointer.

17:29, 1H: Montrezl Harrell picked up his first foul already, with U of L trailing 2-0.

19:35, 1H: And with a Chris Jones turnover, this one's underway.

20:00, 1H: Mangok Mathiang's Jimmy V. Classic performance must have resonated with Rick Pitino. Mathiang is listed as the Cards' starting center for the first time ahead of freshman Chinanu Onuaku, who noticeably struggled against the Hoosiers and who Pitino said didn't follow the game plan.

The rest of U of L's lineup -- guards Chris Jones and Terry Rozier as well as forwards Wayne Blackshear and Montrezl Harrell -- remain in the starting lineup.

PREGAME: Rick Pitino is shooting for his 350th win as coach at U of L, where he's 349-117, and odds are the Cards will get it against a UNCW team that enters the KFC Yum! Center a 28-point underdog.

Additionally, U of L has knocked off nine straight opponents it has faced for the first time in a streak that dates back to the 2010 NCAA tournament loss to California. The Cards are also 42-2 in non-conference games at the Yum! Center.

UNCW is just off to a 3-2 start but does score 80 points per game and shoot better than 50 percent from the field, playing an up-tempo style coach Kevin Keatts, the former U of L assistant, taught at his last job.

Keatts is the 27th former Pitino assistant to become a head coach. Pitino is 37-10 in games against his apprentices.
