Safety Gerod Holliman says he’s had to learn to communicate on the field.

Gerod Holliman only needed one record-setting season to punch his ticket to the NFL draft.

The University of Louisville safety announced on Sunday that he'd forgo his final two years of college and declare for the 2015 draft, according to Bleacher Report. A U of L spokesman could not immediately confirm the news.

The redshirt sophomore from Miami tied the NCAA's single-season record for interceptions this season with 14. He won the Jim Thorpe Award, given to the nation's top defensive back, and has already been named to four All-American teams. He was also a first-team All-ACC selection.

The Bleacher Report post indicated that Holliman, who had 37 tackles and 17 passes defended, could fit in Miami, Indianapolis and Chicago.

He played in 11 games last season and compiled 16 tackles and three passes broken up. He stepped into a key role this fall with the departures of Hakeem Smith and Calvin Pryor, two of U of L's most accomplished safeties in program history.
