Five-star big man Caleb Swanigan, a McDonald's All American, is expected to take an unofficial visit to the University of Louisville's home game against North Carolina on Saturday - a sign the Cardinals might become a factor in the recruitment of an elite frontcourt player in the 2015 class.

Swanigan, who attends Homestead High School in Fort Wayne, Ind., is rated the No. 9 player in the senior class by Scout.com. Swanigan has never announced a set list of college options, so it's not too surprising that he would start considering another top program like Louisville fairly late in the recruiting cycle. Kentucky, Arizona, Michigan State, Duke, Kansas and Notre Dame are some of the many others recruiting him.

It's been thought that the Cards have moved their focus in the 2015 class to backcourt players, but it's a no-brainer to pursue a top big man like Swanigan if the interest is reciprocated.

U of L also will host four-star juniors Miles Bridges and Curtis Jones of Huntington (W.Va.) Prep. Bridges, an athletic wing, has a U of L offer. Jones, a shooting guard who great 3-point range, has become a recent target of U of L assistant Kenny Johnson.

High-scoring 2015 guard Ryan McMahon, who's rated four stars and the No. 42 shooting guard nationally by ESPN.com, confirmed he'll take an official visit to U of L for the UNC game, too. He's a new name on the Cards' radar.
