Louisville point guard Chris Jones is back for his senior year after an up-and-down debut season with the Cardinals.

He'll team up with sophomore Terry Rozier to form what Louisville coach Rick Pitino calls one of the best backcourts in the country.

In this edition of "3 questions," the 5-foot-10 Memphis native talks about losing 18 pounds, summer workouts in Florida and Pitino's new nickname for him:

How did you lose the weight? Did you cut out the Kool-Aid-flavored pickles (Jones's favorite snack)?

Chris Jones: No. Pickles aren't really that bad. I just had to cut down fried food a lot. My favorite food is wings. I had to cut down and minimize that. I've eaten a lot of Qdoba lately, a lot of Subway, a lot of Quiznos. That helped me out a lot. Even when I hurt my shin, I did a lot of whirlpool, a lot of bike, a lot of lifting, so that kept my body down, too, and then I stayed away from all fried food.

What did you get out of your summer workouts in Florida?

Jones: I got a lot out of it. After Kemba Walker lost in the playoffs, he came down. We train with the same guy. Just to be around that guy and how he carries himself, it took my game to another level. That's why everybody loved me at Adidas Nation. It was a lot of fun.

You'll see a lot of Kemba in me because of the moves he did. I got a lot of wisdom from Kyle Lowry. Those two guys are, I think, top-10 point guards in the NBA, so it was good to work with those guys and learn from them.

Do you dig Rick Pitino's Mighty Mouse nickname for you?

Chris Jones: No. I refuse to dig that name. But (Pitino) showed me the video. I didn't know who Mighty Mouse was. He's going around, beating people up with his cape on, flying everywhere. I was like, 'Whoa.' I didn't know. He showed me that video but I felt a little more comfortable after that. After Googling it, I was like, 'OK. This might slide.'
