The Louisville football team's decision this week to give longtime commitment Matt Colburn only a delayed-enrollment "grayshirt" offer instead of letting him sign on Wednesday, apparently did not sit well with his high school coach.

Dutch Fork High School coach Tom Knotts told GoUpState.com that Bobby Petrino's Cardinals will not be welcome to recruit players at his school in the future.

" It's not right," Knotts told the site. "Louisville is only going to hurt themselves doing this. Everybody knows not just what a good player Matt is but what a good person he is. That is not the way to do business, and if that's the way to do business we don't want to deal with them. (Petrino) won't be able to recruit my school anymore, and I imagine there will be some other coaches that will say the same thing. Trust factor is just not there. They've known about these three DBs wanting to go to the NFL for weeks now. To use that as an excuse doesn't hold water with me."

Colburn said U of L's staff informed him Monday that it didn't have room in its 2015 class because the Cards decided they needed more defensive backs to offset the loss of three early NFL draft entrants.

Colburn, his state's Mr. Football winner, is not interested in the grayshirt offer, which would let him delay enrollment till January 2016, and is looking for new options. He looks like he'll find a landing spot somewhere. He said Tuesday that he's received scholarship offers in the past day from Georgia Southern, Marshall, Old Dominion, Furman, Navy, Army, Kent State and Wake Forest.
