STORY LINES

Obviously the main story line ahead of Saturday's game in Tallahassee is how U of L's players have dealt with this week's stunning news regarding former point guard Chris Jones. These players travel together. They live together. They practice and work out together. They do a lot together. So just a dismissal of a player alone is impactful news. But the serious allegations now facing Jones would jolt anyone who knows him as well as the 13 players left on Louisville's roster do.

Beyond the emotional and mental effects of the Jones story, U of L will have to adjust to life without its best on-ball defender and one of its best overall players. The Cards handled it well on Monday, all things considered, overcoming a feisty challenge from Georgia Tech. They'll have to come up with the same fire on Saturday at FSU. The Seminoles have tested Duke, UNC and Virginia, and they nearly clipped Miami on Wednesday.

Major responsibilities have now shifted to several players. Terry Rozier will presumably have to score more, as will Wayne Blackshear. Quentin Snider must run the offense, and wings Anton Gill and Shaqquan Aaron have to figure out how they can contribute more than they have. The next three games will tell Louisville a lot about its team going forward.
