Louisville head coach Bobby Petrino watches his team during last Saturday’s game at Boston College.

Pretty quick Q&A two days before Louisville takes on Notre Dame. Cards coach Bobby Petrino spoke for about two minutes. We did not get a status update on suspended receiver James Quick.

Here's the short transcript from tonight's interview:

Opening statement: Nice, cool day out there. It was good for us to get outside today, mostly to kick and punt the ball and throw and catch it, to get used to the fact that it's going to be cold. We expect it to be cold up there. There's supposed to be some rain ... It doesn't matter -- we have to go up and execute, play hard and find a way to win the game. I've been happy with the week in practice. The guys are excited, focused and they've given us effort all along.

On the weather: The wind is the biggest thing. That's the thing that affects the kicking game and you have to be concerned about how you manage the game if you have the wind or if you're going into the wind. Other than that, both teams have to play in it.

On Reggie Bonnafon: The fact that he has experience under his belt, he's been in games, he's played well, he's won games for us. I was really happy with the way he was calm and the poise that he showed up at Boston College. It didn't seem like a big deal all the sudden that he's thrown in there. He started fast and finished strong. He's going to have to go up there. It's a big challenge. They're a good football team. We have to take care of the ball and utilize his strengths, make some throws down the field and win the game.

On play calling: You go call the game. Reggie's a very good athlete. You look at the all the runs he had the week before. He got hit hard. He did a good job of being smart and taking care of himself. He's quick enough and fast enough that he (inaudible).

On Lorenzo Mauldin, Pio Vatuvei: I think they'll both be ready. They practiced well all week. I think they've done a nice job. The trainer told me this morning that they would be ready to play.
