Darryl Isaacs struck by motorist while biking
Attorney Darryl Isaacs, who has marketed himself as the "Heavy Hitter" and the "Kentucky Hammer" and been described as Kentucky's most recognized lawyer, has been seriously injured in a bicycle accident.
Isaacs, 50, who was struck by a motorist Jan. 19, is recovering at University of Louisville Hospital, where spokesman David McArthur said Tuesday he was in fair condition.
The extent of Isaacs' injuries aren't known, but the Kentucky Trial Court Review, which first reported the accident, said they were serious.
Kathy Lobb, the office manager for his firm, which employs 13 other lawyers in Louisville and Lexington, said it would have no comment out of respect for his privacy.

Indian Hills Police Chief Kelly Spratt said Isaacs is lucky to be alive after a motorist hit him from behind on River Road as Isaacs was attempting to turn left on to Indian Hills Trail.
Two witnesses and Isaacs told police that he was signaling the turn with his left arm when he was struck, thrown back into the car's windshield and on to the pavement.
Spratt said the driver, who is identified in a police report as Michael S. Baumann, 20, of Floyds Knobs, Ind., told police he didn't see Isaacs because of the sun's glare. The accident occurred at 4:55 p.m.
Spratt said Baumann wasn't charged because he wasn't speeding. He had just left work and didn't have any alcohol in his system, according to Spratt and the report. Baumann couldn't be reached through calls to his home.
Spratt said scenic River Road is popular with cyclists but also crowded with motor vehicles, especially when traffic is slowed by accidents on Interstate 71.
Isaacs and Isaacs, which was founded about 19 years ago, remains open for business. It claims to have recovered $500 million in benefits for clients over the years.
According to press accounts, Isaacs spends $1 million a year on advertising and is seen on TV as often as 50 times a month. Then-University of Louisville law school dean Jim Chen in 2012 described Isaacs in a profile in LEO as the most recognized attorney in Kentucky.
