Bolin to start vs. UK; Staples not starting
LEXINGTON, Ky. - The University of Louisville is expected to start quarterback Kyle Bolin for Saturday's noon game at rival Kentucky.
Coach Bobby Petrino had said on Monday that the staff would determine based on the week's practices if the Cards started Bolin, who has started the last three games, or freshman Lamar Jackson, a former starter who relieved Bolin late in the second quarter of last week's loss at Pitt.
Bolin, a Lexington Catholic product who is playing in his hometown, was the hero of last year's U of L win over UK, entering in the second quarter to throw for 381 yards and three touchdowns.
In addition, top Louisville wide receiver Jamari Staples, who left the Pitt game in the fourth quarter with a shoulder injury, is not expected to start but will play. U of L is expected to start junior Ja'Quay Savage in his place.
The Cards are also expected to make a change on the offensive line, starting guard Kiola Mahoni over Skylar Lacy.
