The Kentucky basketball team officially announced the addition of five-star Canadian guard Jamal Murray on Thursday afternoon, a day after he committed to the Wildcats over Oregon.

Murray, who also reclassified from the 2016 recruiting class to 2015 and will play for the Cats next season, saw his stock soar after a 30-point performance for the World Select Team against the United States in the Nike Hoop Summit in April. He was already considered a five-star talent. Now he's ranked the No. 10 prospect in 2015 by 247Sports.com.

"Jamal is one of the best guards in the country," UK coach John Calipari said in a news release, although "continent" may have been a better choice of words. "He showed that in practice at the Nike Hoop Summit and in the game. I had so many people call me to tell me how unbelievable he was. You're talking about a 6-5 playmaker that can score and can guard multiple positions. He can make an impact from anywhere on the floor. I can't wait to start coaching him."

UK's recruiting class, which also features five-star center Skal Labissiere, the No. 1 prospect in the class; five-star point guard Isaiah Briscoe, four-star guard Charles Matthews and four-star junior-college guard Mychal Mulder, is now ranked No. 1 nationally by 247Sports.
