UK freshman defensive back dismissed from team

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kentucky football freshman defensive back Will Jackson has been dismissed from the team for an undisclosed violation of team rules, a UK spokeswoman confirmed Tuesday.

Jackson, a former two-star recruit who was a late addition to UK’s 2015 recruiting class, redshirted during his first season on campus in 2015. The Washington, D.C., native picked UK over offers from Connecticut, N.C. State, Toledo, Western Michigan, Old Dominion and Nevada.

Kentucky returns its top four cornerbacks next season in rising freshmen Chris Westry and Derrick Baity, rising senior J.D. Harmon and rising junior Kendall Randolph. The Wildcats also return rising sophomore Jared Tucker at the position. Kei Beckham, another 2015 defensive back signee, also redshirted during the 2015 season.
