Clean up Louisville #trashtag

Louisville's annual trip to the world stage is days away, and we could use a little spring cleaning.

Between now and Kentucky Derby Day, The Courier-Journal and courier-journal.com will be championing an effort to pick up litter around Louisville. We're using social media to encourage you to help the cause.

In the parking lot at work, while walking the dog or just enjoying the long-delayed spring weather, pick up a piece of litter or two, snap a photo with your phone and share it on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, whatever with #trashtag.

To spread the word, encourage the effort and keep the litter headed into trash cans, we'll share your photos on the Courier's social media accounts — facebook.com/courierjournal, twitter.com/courierjournal, instagram.com/courierjournal, on our web site and in the paper.
