Three of the six incoming freshmen for the University of Louisville basketball have enrolled at the school.

Point guard Quentin Snider and forwards Chinanu Onuaku and Anas Osama Mahmoud enrolled at U of L on Monday for the June academic term. They will begin working out with their new teammates this month.

The remaining members of the class — wing Shaqquan Aaron, forward Jaylen Johnson and center Matz Stockman —will enroll in July.

Summer enrollment gives incoming freshmen the chance to work out with their new team before the NCAA-allowed fall workouts begin in earnest.

Aaron, Johnson, Onuaku and Snider are expected to compete for playing time this season, while U of L may consider redshirting Mahmoud and Stockman. Coach Rick Pitino has repeatedly said that both need to add maturity and beef to their games.

The returning players on Louisville's rosters came back to campus in the past few days as well.

Point guard Chris Jones, considered one of the key returnees for the 2014-15 season, spent his May in Panama City, working out at his former junior college, Northwest Florida State.

Montrezl Harrell, one of the top returning players in college basketball, worked out in North Carolina, as did guard Anton Gill. Senior captain Wayne Blackshear spent the majority of his time in Chicago.

Teams typically spend the summer months playing informal scrimmages and working out on campus while making up academic credits.
