Home invader and victim killed each other

The two men found dead in a home near the Newburg neighborhood Tuesday shot each other during a home invasion, a Louisville Metro Police spokesman said Wednesday.

Police responded to a report of shots fired around 8 a.m. and found the men shot dead in a home on Red Oak Lane, just west of Appliance Park in the Newburg area, LMPD spokesman Dwight Mitchell said.

"One of the victims had the right to be there," Mitchell said.

The names of the men have not been released.
