Montrezl Harrell shatters another backboard

Louisville's Montrezl Harrell slams home a dunk with autority against Temple's Devontae Watson in February.

Montrezl Harrell hasn't exactly played nice with a few backboards he's used during workouts this off-season.

After smashing a backboard back in April while playing with former UNC star John Henson, the 6-foot-8, 235-pound Harrell took out another glass frame during workouts on Sunday.

As his teammate, point guard Chris Jones, points out via Instagram, it's "like the third one this summer."

Hoops have come a long way since the days of "Send it in Jerome!" and Shaq's basket-twisting ways, but they're apparently not out of the woods.

Harrell broke U of L's single-season dunks record this past season, hammering down 98 slams in 37 games. He didn't break any backboards, though he did nurse a wrist injury throughout the season that U of L coach Rick Pitino blamed on "dunking too hard."

So, it only makes sense that Harrell ripped down a rim on Sunday. Maybe we can get Bill Raftery to call the video of it.

Squatting what we think is 405 pounds probably helps Harrell get off the floor. Just a hunch.
