Churchill Downs will unveil its new jumbo video screen Saturday. Testing was ongoing Thursday.

The new large video board at Churchill Downs was being tested April 24, 2014, two days prior to Opening Night for the Spring Meet.

The video boards that used to be above the side toteboards have been moved to the Pagoda where the Kentucky Derby winner's circle is. A new catwalk has been built above them since those boards now block the old toteboard roof where Kentucky governors have watched the race for decades before presenting the trophy.

Also, the track is getting a new sound system, as seen in the accompanying photo of contractors working on speakers beneath the up-stretch spire of the Twin Spires.

The finishing touches were being put on the Grandstand Terrace, which has seats overlooking the start of the Kentucky Derby and a replica of the old paddock roof that formerly was behind those seats and couldn't be reused in the current project.
