Make that two verbal commitments in two days for the University of Louisville football team.

Three-star linebacker Amonte Caban, a 6-foot-2, 210-pound high school senior from Alabama, announced on Tuesday that he plans to sign with U of L in February.

"I want to thank everyone who has helped me through this process," Caban tweeted before posting a picture of U of L's Papa John's Cardinal Stadium.

"It's been long. After a long and several conversations with family, I have finally come to a decision."

Caban is a four-star inside linebacker on 247Sports.com and a three-star prospect on Rivals, Scout and ESPN's recruiting sites.

He had scholarship offers from Clemson, Kentucky, Mississippi State, Oklahoma, South Carolina and Tennessee, among several others.

Louisville received a verbal commitment from three-star junior-college receiver Paul Harris on Monday, and with Caban's pledge, U of L's up to 18 commitments for the 2015 class.

Caban, from Smiths Station, Ala., is the 12th-ranked inside linebacker on 247Sports' composite rankings, which use a formula to combine prospect ratings from each of the most trusted recruiting services.

He plays a position that might limit his immediate impact on the Cardinals.

Sophomore Keith Kelsey and junior James Burgess occupy the starting spots, and redshirt sophomore Keith Brown, redshirt freshman Stacy Thomas and freshman Isaac Stewart are all backups listed on the depth chart.

The commitment adds to Louisville's recent push up the team recruiting rankings. The Cards moved up to No. 32 in the nation on 247 Sports after spending much of the summer in the 40s and 50s.
