It's a story well-documented in Louisville, but thanks to the Atlantic Coast Conference, the rest of the league now knows from where U of L linebacker Lorenzo Mauldin came.

And that's just about nothing.

Mauldin, who grew up essentially raising his siblings before being placed in a foster home, has embraced the Cardinals' football team as his family. He hasn't seen his father since he was 2. His mother sold drugs and was in and out of jail.

The senior said in an ACC Digital Network video published this week that, "The only thing that saved me from really just giving up was football."
