I'm not sure what to say in this space, but that's what they pay me the medium bucks for, so here goes ...

Louisville annihilated Savannah State on Monday night. Annihilated. Pulverized. What other words ya got?

The Cardinals set a new program record, at least since they started recording things in 1972-73, for the fewest points allowed in a half, keeping Savannah State to a 41-7 halftime score. Things didn't get better from there.

U of L finished with an 87-26 final line.

Now let's try to find three things to analyze from tonight's clobbering:

Turnover creation continues. For the second game in a row, Louisville's press was all over the place, stifling Savannah State into 16 turnovers at the half. The rotations at times weren't there, but the speed with which the Cards recovered made it impossible for Savannah State to catch up. The Tigers were simply overmatched.

Aggressive Terry. U of L guard Terry Rozier had a rough shooting night on Friday, missing a buncha jumpers and leaving the locker room rather frustrated with himself. Louisville coach Rick Pitino said his 6-foot-1 sophomore guard let the missed jump shots bother him, and they impacted his defensive performance. But tonight, Rozier was far more aggressive getting to the tin, and it paid off. He was 5 of 8 from the field and got to the basket with relative ease. He had a fantastic spin and skim off the glass for a nice bucket in the first half. Smooth.

I've never seen a game like this. Now, I've played in a game like this. On the losing end, obviously. But there were times tonight where I just didn't know what to say or write. I'd look up at the scoreboard and it'd be 51-7 or 71-14 or 32-1. I mean what can possibly be said?
