Clemson fans react after the Tigers stopped Louisville on their final drive during an NCAA college football game in Clemson, S.C., Saturday, Oct. 11, 2014. Clemson won 23-17.

Mark Hebert recently submitted a letter to the Greenville (S.C.) News not in his official capacity as the University of Louisville's director of media relations and a school spokesman but just as a Cardinals fan.

Hebert, who traveled to U of L's Oct. 11 game against Clemson, came away with glowing reviews of welcoming Tigers fans despite a hotly contested game.

Did you have a similar experience? Let us know.

Hebert's full letter published Tuesday:

Clemson fans are the talk of the town in Louisville. I was one of the thousands of University of Louisville fans who attended the football game and returned to Kentucky raving about the warmth and friendliness of the Tiger fans. I lost track of the number of times we were greeted with "welcome to Clemson, we're so glad you're here" or "would you like something to eat?" as we walked through your spectacular campus tailgate parties.

Word has spread through Louisville sports talk radio and word of mouth that the Clemson road trip is not to be missed in 2016. We also saw and heard numerous Cardinals fans swapping phone numbers with Clemson fans and promising a similar experience for you when your Tigers play in Louisville next year.

It was truly a great experience (despite our heartbreaking loss) and this UofL fan appreciated the hospitality. See you at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium next year!

Mark Hebert
