A woman gave birth prematurely after she and two children were struck by a drunken driver Thursday evening outside the KFC Yum! Center after seeing "Disney on Ice," police said.

Sara Neathamer of Jeffersonville, Ind., and her newborn are in stable condition after she gave birth at University of Louisville Hospital, according to Alicia Smiley, a spokeswoman for Louisville Metro Police. Neathamer was six months pregnant, she said.

Neathamer's 3-year-old and 6-year-old, who were also struck, were in fair and good condition early Friday afternoon, according to Maggie Roetker, a spokeswoman for Kosair Children's Hospital.

Russell Mullins, 64, of New Albany, Ind., was arrested late Thursday night in the accident and charged with driving under the influence, three counts of first-degree assault and two counts of wanton endangerment, according to Metro Corrections.

His blood-alcohol content was .095 when tested on the scene, according to the arrest report.

Smiley said Mullins was traveling west on Main Street in a Ford Expedition around 9:30 p.m. when he ran a red light at Third Street and struck Neathamer and her children as they crossed the street.

One child sustained a concussion and the other has a broken limb, Smiley said.

Mullins, who stopped at the scene, said he did not see the victims until he hit them, according to his arrest report. He and a female passenger were unharmed, Smiley said.

Mullins also faces a drunken driving charge stemming from an April arrest in Louisville, according to court records.

He is being held in lieu of a $10,000 cash bond and was formally arraigned Friday morning.
