The University of Louisville women's basketball team announced Wednesday that five of its home games, including a Dec. 7 matchup against rival Kentucky, will be shown live exclusively online on ESPN3.com.

The Cardinals' other games that have been assigned to ESPN3 are Nov. 25 against Western Kentucky, Dec. 4 against Iowa as part of the ACC/Big Ten Challenge, Jan. 2 against Georgia Tech in U of L's ACC debut, and Jan. 14 against North Carolina State.

U of L spokesman Ira Green confirmed that none of those games will be picked up for television at a later date.

That means the UK-U of L game - the teams' 50th meeting - won't be shown on live television for the first time since the 2010-11 season. The UK-U of L matchup figures to be one of highly ranked teams. The Wildcats are No. 11 and Cards No. 12 in the Associated Press preseason Top 25.

Last season's U of L-UK game in Lexington was shown on FSN through the UK IMG network. The season before that, the game at U of L was on ESPNU, and during the 2011-12 year, there was an FSN/IMG broadcast for the game in Lexington.

As was previously announced, Louisville will have seven regular-season games on TV this season, plus an additional ESPN3 broadcast at Florida State on Jan. 22.

The Cardinals are scheduled to make two appearances on ESPN2's Big Monday - at Duke on Feb. 2 and at Notre Dame on Feb. 23. Games against Virginia (Jan. 18), Miami (Jan. 25), and Virginia (March 1) are slated for RSN/FOX, and the home game against North Carolina on Feb. 15 will be broadcast on ESPN2.

Louisville's game at California on Dec. 21 will be televised on the Pac-12 Network.

The Cards' nine home games not selected for TV or ESPN3 coverage will be available to CardsTV subscribers through GoCards.com.

Louisville opens the season at IUPUI on Nov. 14. UK hosts Pikeville in an exhibition on Thursday and opens the regulars with Appalachian State at home on Nov. 14.
