STORYLINES

• Louisville returns home after strong opening performance in an 81-68 win over Minnesota in Puerto Rico. Gone is the buildup and the anticipation for both the opener, the Pitino vs. Pitino matchup and the dramatic backdrop of a U.S. Coast Guard air base. Instead, this will be the first time Louisville fans see the freshmen in person in a game that counts. How the young players, especially hometown product Quentin Snider, handle that pressure is important this early in the season.

• The Cardinals have won 13 home openers in a row and they are heavy favorites to win a 14th. Jacksonville State is one of two or three weakest opponents on Louisville's schedule, and Monday's game should give Rick Pitino a chance to see what the deeper end of his bench can do.

• Montrezl Harrell, Terry Rozier and Chris Jones looked ready for the season, scoring 61 of Louisville's 81 points against Minnesota and playing well for much of the game. But Louisville needs more from Wayne Blackshear, Mangok Mathiang and Anton Gill. Each is expected to contribute major minutes, some scoring punch and certainly some rebounding to this team, but they weren't sharp in the opener. They could use strong showings on Monday.
