STORYLINES

Louisville's treated Madison Square Garden as a home away home of sorts in recent years. The Cards have won eight consecutive games there and 10 of their last 11. Of course some of U of L's fondest memories in recent seasons have come at MSG, where the Cards won the Big East tournament two years in a row.

Tuesday's meeting with Indiana makes for Louisville's third game against a Big Ten opponent in the early stages of the 2014-15 season. The Cards raced past Minnesota 81-68 and held off Ohio State 64-55. Believe it or not, this is the first meeting between U of L and IU -- schools just two hours apart -- since 2003. The added juice to Tuesday's matchup? U of L coach Rick Pitino plucked recruiting ace Kenny Johnson from IU coach Tom Crean's staff after last season.

The Cardinals had their best shooting performance of the season in their Friday night win over FIU, making 57 percent of their shots in an 82-57 rout. But Pitino still wasn't happy with his team's passing and ball movement, which seems to be his early-season bugaboo for this group. U of L will have to do a better job in that area, Pitino said, if it wants to beat IU.
