Cellar Door Chocolates (@cellardoorchoco) has been selected as the official chocolate sponsor of the 66th Emmy Primetime Awards Creative Arts Ball on Saturday, August 16, and the Emmy Awards Governors Ball on Monday, August 25. They'll create 10,000 pieces of chocolate for each event.

"We'll do the chocolates that locals in Louisville love … we know are tried and true," says Cellar Door owner Erika Chavez-Graziano. The Butchertown chocolate shop will make Four Roses bourbon buttercreams, sea salt caramels, chocolate truffles, and a variety of other treats for the star studded events. Many of the confections will feature a spectrum of colors in honor of the Emmys' theme of a kaleidoscope of color.

Chavez-Graziano says she and her team waited for a month during the vetting process after being asked to submit chocolates for consideration. "On pain of death I told them 'don't say anything, keep your fingers crossed," she says. When she received word, "you know when you're so excited you can't breathe?" she says, "That's kind of what happened."

Out of all the chocolate shops in the country, why does she think they were chosen? "The same reason why people [in Louisville] buy our chocolates," Chavez-Graziano says. "They're just delicious. First and foremost it's taste, and our ability to make the chocolates look the way they want them to. I have the talent at the shop – I have the greatest chocolatiers, and with the right ingredients you can't go wrong."

The shop in Butchertown Market (1201 Story Ave.) will feature a mock set-up of the Emmys display beginning Thursday, August 7.
