Spalding scores 15 as The Ville makes AAU semifinals
University of Louisville fans have one final day to watch new commitment Raymond Spalding this summer, and his club — The Ville —- are still alive for one of the biggest prizes in travel-team basketball.
Spalding, of Trinity High, had 15 points as The Ville defeated another Kentucky squad Hoop Dreams 54-43 Sunday night in Freedom Hall to advance to the semifinals of the 11th-grade AAU National Championship.
Jeffersontown's Brandon Johnson added 12 points for The Ville, and Trinity's Jax Levitch scored nine.
The Ville will face Team Nashville, which beat Arkansas Wings Elite 50-48, in the first semifinal at noon at Freedom Hall. The Albany City Rocks (N.Y.) and Team Florida will play in the 1:20 semifinal.
