Two Kentucky shooting victims released from Vanderbilt hospital

Two victims injured in a shooting at Marshall County High School in Benton, Kentucky, were released Thursday from a hospital in Nashville, Tennessee.

Two male patients remain at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. As of Thursday evening, both are in stable condition, according to a hospital spokeswoman.

Six students were taken to the medical center following the high school shooting Tuesday that killed two students and left dozens injured.

Bailey Holt, 15, died at the school, while Preston Ryan Cope, 15, died at the hospital.

Five of the injured students were flown to Vanderbilt in the hours following the shooting, including Cope.

Hours after the shooting, one of the female patients was taken to Vanderbilt's Monroe Carell Jr. Children's hospital around 6:30 p.m. She was released Wednesday evening. 

The remaining victims s at VUMC will likely be released from the hospital in three to five days, Dr. Oscar Guillamondegui told reporters Tuesday afternoon.

Officials said Wednesday that the 15-year-old student accused in the shooting will be tried as an adult and will be charged with two counts of murder and 12 counts of assault in the first degree. 

The student's identity has not yet been released by authorities.
