A Louisville diner and one unruly patron made national news Wednesday morning.

Fox News anchor Todd Piro was visiting with locals at Christi's Cafe off Dixie Highway during a live segment on "Fox and Friends" when a man in a white T-shirt inched his way up to the camera with a sheet of paper that read "Fox Lies."

"You got a Democrat right here," the patron said. "This is fake news!"

Piro, flustered, cut off the live segment.

"We're, ah, gonna wrap this on up and head to commercial," Piro said. "Steve and Brian, I'm gonna send it on back to you."

Watch the "Fox and Friends" interruption below:

Steve Doocey and co-host Brian Kilmeade were taken off guard by the sudden interruption too.

"Yeah, we don't know exactly what's going on there, but they felt for the best interests of the telecast we cut away," Doocey said on the segment.

Christi Druin, the owner of the cafe, said that she didn't know the identity of the man, but everyone was just as shocked as the Fox News hosts.

"Everybody was caught off guard by it," Druin said. "He came in earlier, sat there and ate his breakfast. I guess he was just looking for the right opportunity."

Druin said that security guards escorted the man off the property after he interrupted the broadcast. She added that despite the interruption, she enjoyed having the national network at her restaurant.

"The experience was awesome," Druin said. "The host was very professional and handled it well."

Martha MacCallum, anchor of Fox News Channel's "The Story with Martha MacCallum," is in Louisville to "take the pulse" of the state. Her show, which airs weeknights at 7 p.m., will broadcast live Wednesday from the Kentucky State Fair.
