Jennifer Lawrence makes holiday hospital visit

Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence stopped by Norton Children's Hospital on Saturday to share some holiday cheer with patients and staff.

Jennifer Lawrence of Louisville won a Best Actress Award at the Golden Globes for her role in "Joy."

This isn't the first time the Louisville native visited the hospital. She's made a surprise Christmas visit every year since 2013. And in February, she donated $2 million to establish the Jennifer Lawrence Foundation Cardiac Intensive Care Unit.

"My family and I have met so many wonderful children on our visits to the hospital. Their strength and courage is inspiring," Lawrence said at that time.

Lawrence's trips to the hospital are generally kept secret - with even a media representative from Norton saying Saturday that she wasn't aware of the actress's plans before she showed up. 

However, Lawrence isn't shy about taking photos with patients and staff during her visits, and the pictures often make their rounds on social media during through the holiday. Here are a few posted to Twitter and Facebook:
