The Cardinals improved to 19-4, 7-3 ACC, and Boston College fell to 9-15, 2-9.

Read back over updates as they occurred.

Final, UofL 90-67: Mitchell did return and wound up with 19 points, tying Adel, who had a career high. Cards shot 63 percent in the second half.

2H, 3:54, UofL 79-54: Mitchell has really come to life as a scorer this half as Louisville has pulled away, and he's now up to 17 points, tied with Adel for the team lead. He's got 13 points this half and had eight points in a two-minute stretch. Mangok having one of his better offensive games, too, with 14 points on 6/10 shooting. Mitchell is out of the game now with four fouls, and it wouldn't be a big surprise if he's done for the day. Louisville has shot 63 percent in the second half.

2H, 7:24, UofL 72-47: Cards cruising now, having shot 58 percent in the second half and getting balanced scoring (Adel 17, Mitchell 14 - 10 this half - King 11, Mathiang 10).

2H, 11:49, UofL 59-40: Cards led 50-40 out of the media timeout, then reeled off nine straight points in 1:41 seconds after the break - two Spalding FTs, a Mathiang bucket, a three by Adel and another basket by Adel, who now has 17 points. He just missed his first shot and is now 7/8. Cards rolling now.

2H, 14:48, UofL 50-38: Mitchell hits a three out of the half, Mahmoud and Johnson (two baskets) and King have also scored as U of L keeps a safe cushion. King now has 11 points. Spalding and King both missed hightlight-reel dunks.

HALFTIME, UofL 39-30: Reigning ACC Player of the Week Donovan Mitchell has only four points, but he also has two assists and two rebounds with one turnover in the first half.

HALFTIME, UofL 39-30: BC cut it to four with a minute left in the half, but King had a three-point play, and Mitchell scored with 13 seconds to go in the final minute. Louisville is 15/29 in the first half. BC just 10/31. Adel has 12 pts for Louisville, King has 9 (in a very strong first half) and Mangok has 8. Bowman with 10 points to lead BC. Robinson has 9, but he's only 2/9 from the floor, though he's 5/6 on FTs.

1H, 2:49, UofL 34-26: Eight early points by Mangok Mathiang, who isn't being shy on offense, having already taken seven shots (three made).  Eagles had a spurt out of the 6:00 timeout as Bowman hits another three - he now has 10 points 4/5 FG - and Robinson scored as well. It was an 8-0 run in response to UofL getting up by 15 points. Run was snapped by two King FTs. V.J. has six early points. McMahon, BTW, is back on the bench with two fouls.

1H, 6:00, UofL 30-18: Deng Adel is on fire early, having made his first five shots, including most recently a three. Mathiang then got a dunk to make it a 15-point lead briefly. Bowman answered with a three, and U of L calls timeout. Adel has 12 points, including seven straight for Louisville before the Mangok dunk. He also blocked Turner's dunk try. Also a good start by V.J. King, who has 2 layups.

1H, 11:08, UofL 15-9: BC didn't get its first basket until the 14:23 mark, but it has outscored UL since then. King has come on and got a steal and a layup. Mangok, Spalding and McMahon in, too.

1H, 15:41, UofL 8-0: Cards start another game hot. Adel with five points, and David Levitch has a three as U of L jumps ahead quickly. BC misses its first five shots.

PREGAME:

2:25 p.m.: Jeff Greer tweets U of L's starters will be the same as last game - Mitchell, Levitch, Adel, Johnson, Mahmoud.

2:15 p.m. Here's Jeff Greer's storylines, projected lineups and broadcast details for the game. (The livestream may be blacked out locally on ESPN3.)

**Here's Jeff's feature advance of the game with Bob Ryan, Walter McCarty and other media, etc., looking at the dichotomy of how people love Pitino in Providence (Friars fans) and hate him a short distance away in Boston (Celtics fans).

***Quentin Snider is probably at least a week away from returning for games, but Jeff tweets that he was taking shots 90 minutes before the game, which would seem to be a good sign about his progress.
