Bevin initiative seeks to encourage adoption with breakfast series

Hoping to encourage more members of Kentucky's faith-based community to help provide permanent homes to the many children in need of adoption, the state will hold four breakfast meetings on the topic this month in Louisville.

"Open Hearts/Open Homes," an initiative launched by the administration of Gov. Matt Bevin, is hosting the free events aimed at encouraging more church leaders and members to get involved in helping people consider becoming foster and adoptive parents.

Each session will begin at 9 a.m. and last about an hour. Sessions will include breakfast, a short presentation about adoption and foster care, and time for questions. Because space is limited, reservations are required and organizations are asked to limit participants to two members.

►April 25: Bridges of Hope Neighborhood Place, 1411 Algonquin Parkway.

►April 26: Charmoli Neighborhood Place in Middletown, 200 Juneau Drive, Suite 200.

►April 27: Fairdale Neighborhood Place, 1000 Neighborhood Place, off National Turnpike, behind the South Park TAPP School.

►April 28: Youth for Christ Building, 4102 W. Market St.
