Louisville-based food distributor Creation Gardens issued a recall Monday on more than 22,000 pounds of food, citing possible E. coli contamination.

In addition to supplying Louisville restaurants, the company also supplies more than 1,500 restaurants in Lexington, Kentucky; Evansville, Indiana; Nashville, Tennessee, and Cincinnati, according to Creation Garden's Facebook page.

Creation Gardens receives its produce and meats from several companies in Louisville and Southern Indiana including George Gagel Truck Farm and Shuckman's Fish Co. & Smokery.

Creation Gardens did not return multiple phone calls requesting comment.

E. Coli is a potentially deadly bacterium that can cause dehydration, bloody diarrhea and abdominal cramps two to eight days after exposure, according to a news release from the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

USDA officials said that while most individuals will recover in a week, they should see a doctor if they have symptoms such as easy bruising, pallor and having trouble peeing.

Creation Gardens advises any customer who has bought the following products to throw them away:
