ESPN's Rece Davis, Lee Corso and Kirk Herbstreit discuss the upcoming Saturday college football games on the Game Day set outside Papa John's Cardinal Stadium in 2016.

ESPN is bringing "College GameDay" back to Louisville for the second consecutive season, the network announced Sunday.

The popular college football pregame show will broadcast live from U of L's Grawemeyer Hall the morning before Louisville hosts Clemson in a critical ACC showdown on Saturday at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium.

ABC will carry the national broadcast of the matchup.

The game time, originally set for 3:30 p.m., was moved to 8 p.m. to fill the primetime slot that came open when the ACC rescheduled the Florida State-Miami matchup for Oct. 7. Both Miami and Tallahassee are expected to be hammered by Hurricane Irma early this week as it travels over Florida.

“To have ESPN 'College GameDay' come to the University of Louisville for the second straight season is a tribute to head coach Bobby Petrino, all of our players and where this football program has come through the years,” U of L athletics director Tom Jurich said in a release. “The excitement the fans generated last year in that historic appearance is a tribute to their passion and loyalty to our football program. We are thrilled to have 'GameDay' back on our campus to showcase our great university.”

No. 16 U of L topped North Carolina, 47-35, on Saturday to improve to 2-0. Third-ranked Clemson bested No. 13 Auburn, 14-6, a few hours later, also climbing to 2-0.

The two ACC nemeses have produced fireworks in each of their first three meetings since Louisville joined the league. Clemson has won all three games by a combined 15 points.

Clemson edged Louisville, 42-36, last season in a wildly entertaining game between two top-five teams.

"College GameDay" broadcast its show from Clemson's campus for that matchup two weeks after coming to Louisville for the first time. U of L blasted third-ranked FSU, 63-20, in that game, boosting Lamar Jackson's Heisman Trophy candidacy.

ESPN's Chris Fowler tweeted Saturday night that Clemson-Louisville "would make for a compelling contest." His broadcast partner, analyst Kirk Herbstreit, agreed.

"I enjoyed it so much last year in Death Valley," Herbstreit tweeted. "Only seems logical to see round 2 this year in Louisville!!"
